South Cariboo region of British Columbia

This is a vast and beautiful area that reaches all the way from the Interlakes District of Highway 24, "The Fishing Highway" in the east … to the sparsely populated wilderness of the Fraser River Plateau in the west. Visit 70 Mile House … 100 Mile House … and the 108 Mile Ranch. There's the Canim Lake area … Clinton … Lac La Hache … Lone Butte … and so much more awaiting you.

The Cariboo's first offering was gold. It was a land born of dreams ... dreams of discovery, gold dust and instant riches. Golden imagery still pervades our psyche. Golden hay fields swaying gently in an afternoon breeze -- forest meadows filled in spring with golden flowers -- in autumns lazy light the golden leaves of aspen -- sunshine shimmering golden off a still lake's surface -- and golden sunsets painted in the western sky. Today our four-season destination offers a lifetime of memorable BC experiences with an endless list of outdoor activities for the entire family.

Whether you travel with an RV, motor home or car, the South Cariboo is just a breathtaking 5 hour drive from Vancouver, BC and the Vancouver International airport. The South Cariboo invites you to enjoy exceptional water recreation on countless lakes … canoeing, boating, swimming and fantastic fresh water fishing. Explore our multi-use trails, play a round of golf, discover the diversity of our back-country wilderness hiking, biking or ATVing or just sit back and relax. This is cattle country so experience the spirit of the "Wild West" on horseback - come as a tourist, go home a cowboy!

Our crisp, sunny winters provide the perfect setting for x-country skiing, snowmobiling, ice fishing, dog sledding, skiing, snowboarding, skating and snowshoeing. Here you can immerse yourself in the great BC outdoors where wildlife is abundant, the air is clean, and the waters are pure.

Cape Chignecto Park Hiking Tour - Nova Scotia

Come discover a truly extraordinary part of Cape Chignecto Park, the wilderness trail from Elliott Field to Seal Cove. This spectacular hike will start out following the clear, cold waters of Elliot Brook, through a lush forest to the escarpment overlooking historic Eatonville Harbour. From here you will have a view of the beautiful tidal Harbour, where at one time a large mill operated. Some of the largest sailing ships built on the Bay of Fundy were constructed here during Nova Scotia's "Age of Sail". Today there is no sign left of this once bustling mill and community. The trail continues to Green Point, where you will emerge from the forest to a promontory overlooking the Three Sisters. The views from here are astounding and we will have a rest to enjoy the peaceful surroundings and views. The trail from here is along the coast with picturesque vistas continuously until we descend into Seal Cove.

Here your guide will prepare a delicious lunch for you while you explore the long beach, go for a refreshing dip or check out the flora and fauna of this picturesque spot.

You will want to have your camera out for the duration of this hike - for the scenery and the possibility of a Moose or other wildlife on this section of trail. It's a photographer's dream! Your guide will carry all emergency gear and the majority of the food, making this hike one where you will be able enjoy the experience with no extra gear or worries.
