Dinosaurs Unearthed at Metropolis at Metrotown - Burnaby, BC

Dinosaurs rule Metropolis at Metrotown this summer! The fascinating creatures
will be the focus of a larger than life exhibit taking place from June 12 to September 20. The exhibition, entitled Dinosaurs Unearthed, will mark the first time the feathered Tyrannosaurus Rex will be seen in Canada.

In addition to the full-size feathered model, the exhibition will feature an animatronic Tyrannosaurus Rex that will roar and move.  The T. rex will tower above guests and will add to the once in a lifetime experience.

“Metropolis is very excited to unveil the feathered T. rex to Canadians and offer families a fun, free event for the summer.” Said Artie Chumpol, Public and Community Relations Manager, Metropolis at Metrotown. “We are confident the dinosaurs will be a hit with guests of all ages.”

The Metropolis a Metrotown exhibit, sponsored in part by Tourism Burnaby, also includes two full sized skeletons of Asian dinosaurs, The Yangchuanosaurus, a Jurassic theropod, will be displayed in the Atrium along with stegosaurian Huayangosaurus. Fossils from both North American and Asian dinosaurs are represented as well as examples from both the Jurassic and Cretaceous Periods.

People seeking an entertaining, educational family event will not be disappointed as visitors can learn all about the dinosaurs at interactive displays and story boards.  A dig-site will allow junior paleontologists to unearth dinosaur footprints and compare their discoveries to charts of dinosaur tracks.

The story boards, animatronic dinosaurs, skeletons and fossils will tell an engaging and educational story of the dinosaurs and paleontological discoveries.

In addition to a fun free event, guest can all enter to win a trip of a lifetime for four to the Dinosaur capital of North America, Drumheller, Alberta.
