Fresh Tracks - Trusted Experts In Memorable Canadian Experiences

The Canadian Rockies are a nature lover's dream come true. The numerous ranges that comprise the Rocky Mountains span the length of two countries. Starting in Northern Alaska, the Rockies wind through the Canadian pacific region, widen out a bit in the northwestern United States and finally taper off in northern New Mexico.

To say that the Canadian portion of the Rocky Mountains is known for its beauty would be a gross understatement. The pictures seen so often of snowcapped peaks reflected in pristine mountain rivers simply cannot do the region justices. Dense forests, still unspoiled by the effects of urban sprawl, still abound in western Canada. This makes the area an unforgettable vacation destination.

But the purity of the Canadian Rockies makes for more than just a picturesque tourist attraction. There is an abundance of wildlife that thrives in this area's Edenesque landscape. What's more, many of these species are vanishing everywhere else in the northern hemisphere.

Among the regions wildlife are large mammals (like bison, mountain goats and caribou) golden eagles, beavers porcupines and much more. The Pacific ocean is just a day's trip away from the western side of the Canadian Rockies. Those willing to make the trip to British Columbia's shores may be lucky enough to see some rare, aquatic life in the forms of orcas, gray whales and Pacific White-Sided Dolphins.

It is also not uncommon for sight-seers to get distant views of some of North America's largest predatory animals. The Canadian Rockies' big, carnivorous species include: Black bears, Grizzly bears, Lynx, Cougars, Coyote and Large wolves

It's not surprising that the animals that inhabit this virtually untouched paradise  experience very few survival issues. Salmon have crystal clear stream and rivers in which to swim, which in turn leads to adequate amounts of food for grizzly bears. There is plenty of green grass for the Rocky Mountains' moose population and fresh roots for the various rodent species.

If you love viewing wildlife in its natural habitat, there is no better place to visit than the Canadian Rockies. Let Fresh Tracks help you plan the perfect Canada vacation for you and your family. Whether you want to roll through the Rocky Mountains on a relaxing train trip, get an overhead view from a biplane or hike on guided tours, we have your solution.

Canada South Wine Tours - Ontario

A Tourism Industry Council of Ontario (T.I.C.O.) certified tour company that specializes in tours of the local Windsor area wineries, offering daily tours and tastings of Vintners Quality Alliance (VQA) wines and icewines.

Winery tours typically last 6-7 hours. We will pick you up and return you to your group's desired location (B&B, hotel, marina, casino, doorstep). You will visit at least 4-6 wineries and enjoy lunch in a vineyard. There will be unique meet and greet opportunities with winemakers and/or winery owners through-out the day.

Situated at the same latitude as the Mediterranean The Lake Erie North Shore Region benefits from it's proximity to Lake Erie which offers a unique maritime climate in a continental region. Grape growers in The Lake Erie North Shore and Pelee Island Designated Viticultural Areas grow some of the world's finest vinifera and French hybrid wine grapes that continually and reliably produce award winning, world class wines, including naturally produced ice wines.

The region is a winemaker's paradise blessed with exceptional soil conditions and a regional climate which offers longer sun hours and greater heat units than any other area in Canada. In fact, geographically speaking, it is located as far south as northern California and the Tuscany region of Italy, and further south than the renowned Bordeaux and Burgundy wine regions of France.

Wine making in the Essex County has a proud past, dating back to the 1860s when three gentlemen farmers from Kentucky came north looking for winemaking opportunities. They found them on Pelee Island, just off the shores of Lake Erie. In 1866 the trio, D.J.Williams, Thomas Williams and Thaddeus Smith opened Canada’s first commercial estate winery Vin Villa Estates. Soon after, Pelee Island attracted another wine venture. Two brothers from England Edward and John Wardoper founded Pelee Island Wine and Vineyard Company.
